Hi, my name is Maria Collier. I work fulltime and compete nationally and internationally in waka ama/outrigger canoeing, so top results in gym sessions are vital to me as an athlete.
Paula Signal has been my personal trainer for over 12 years and in that time we have had (and continue to have) twice weekly structured sessions. She has a wide range of skills apart from exercise training, including pressure point work, paired-stretching guidance, foam roller drills, nutritional advice and massage.
Including a variety of exercises in my programmes is another task that Paula does very well. Finally, she is good communicator who easily explains and demonstrates exercises in a simple way. I think I have a top-quality, dream trainer; as a result I can continue to enjoy my top-level performances under her guidance.

I’ve been training with Paula for a couple of years now. She has worked with me to come back from knee replacement surgery, while also nursing along deterioration in my other knee.
Paula’s rich knowledge and skill in relation to physical training and nutrition, along with endless encouragement and a non-judgemental approach, has been vital to my feelings of success. She is able to work the same muscle groups through what seem to be an endless variety of exercises – never boring, always challenging.

I've been training with Paula two days a week for roughly two years. My goal and focus when I started with her was to compete in a body building competition. Looking back now, I can easily say I've gained so much more out of it than achieving my goal.
I've improved my posture, total wellbeing and fitness, learnt so much about technique when using equipment, healthy eating, the way the body works and builds muscle, the list goes on and on.
